Universal Studios Hollywood is one of Southern California's defining theme park destinations, drawing over 9 million visitors a year to the park itself plus millions more to the free-access CityWalk entertainment district. Group travel makes up a substantial portion of that attendance — school field trips through Universal's STEAM and film education programs, Grad Bash and senior trips, corporate buyouts and private after-hours events, youth sports reward visits, summer day camps, church and religious group outings, family reunions, and the performing arts and cheer-and-dance group bookings that fill the spring calendar.

Group transportation to Universal is governed by Universal's designated charter bus and motorcoach drop-off on the upper level adjacent to CityWalk via Universal Hollywood Drive, near the Frontgate parking structure. The drop-off provides direct pedestrian access to CityWalk and the park entrance via the escalators and walkways. Bus parking is in a dedicated area within the Jurassic lot. Groups must pre-register through Universal Group Sales or Universal Youth Programs.

GTS Charter has been running groups to Universal Studios Hollywood for 25 years. Our drivers know the US-101 Cahuenga Pass traffic patterns, the Lankershim and Barham approach options, and the difference between a smooth weekday school group drop-off and a Saturday-afternoon CityWalk traffic crawl. We coordinate with Universal Group Sales for pre-arranged drop-offs, maintain school district safety credentialing, and provide the operational reliability that group trips to Universal require.

What We Provide

Group Transportation Services at Universal Studios

School Field Trips & EdVenture Programs

Universal's EdVenture programs and STEAM-focused school programs bring hundreds of school groups to the park every year. GTS Charter provides safe, licensed motorcoach transportation for school districts across LA County, the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, Ventura County, and the Inland Empire — with vetted drivers, ADA-accessible vehicles, and the safety credentials that district transportation directors require.

Grad Bash & Senior Trip Transport

Universal's Grad Bash spring program fills the calendar with private after-hours events for graduating high school classes. GTS coordinates these trips with the kind of dispatch reliability and chaperone-friendly operational support that makes a Grad Bash trip safe and successful.

Corporate Buyouts & Private After-Hours Events

Corporate buyouts, private after-hours events, and Universal's premium private experiences require the kind of executive-vehicle transportation and operational coordination that GTS delivers. We coordinate guest transportation from hotels and offices to the designated motorcoach drop-off, with seamless return service when the event concludes.

Halloween Horror Nights Group Charters

Halloween Horror Nights from September through November is one of the highest-demand events at Universal. GTS Charter provides group transportation for HHN parties, sponsor activations, and fan group charters — with the late-night operational capacity and post-event egress experience that HHN nights require.

Youth Sports & Summer Camp Transport

Post-tournament reward visits and summer day camp trips to Universal are a Southern California tradition. GTS provides team and family group transportation for these visits, with the experienced drivers and operational reliability that these trips require.

Multi-Day SoCal Tour Packages

For visiting groups combining Universal with Hollywood, the LA beaches, Disneyland, and other Southern California destinations, GTS provides multi-day tour package transportation — with consistent driver assignments, the operational continuity that builds trust, and the local knowledge that makes a multi-day itinerary work.

Local Expertise

Why GTS Knows Universal Studios

01

US-101 Cahuenga Pass Routing

The US-101 through the Cahuenga Pass backs up in both directions during weekends and rush hour, and the Universal Hollywood Drive and Lankershim exits chronically congest during park peak periods. Our drivers know which approach works for which time — sometimes the Barham Boulevard back-route saves 20 minutes, sometimes Lankershim is faster. We brief drivers based on the day, the time, and real-time conditions.

02

CityWalk Weekend Congestion Management

CityWalk's free-access status means weekend traffic is a different problem from weekday park-only operations — visitors competing for the same ramps, the same drop-off zones, and the same egress paths. GTS coordinates timing and drop-off staging to avoid the worst of the CityWalk weekend congestion.

03

Universal Group Sales Coordination

School groups, corporate buyouts, and large private events at Universal require pre-arrangement through Universal Group Sales or Universal Youth Programs, with documentation submitted in advance for park access, motorcoach drop-off scheduling, and any special accommodations. GTS has the established workflow with Universal Group Sales to file documentation and secure drop-off windows.

04

Halloween Horror Nights Operational Capacity

HHN nights run late — often past midnight — and require driver dispatch, vehicle staging, and post-event egress coordination on a different schedule than daytime park operations. GTS has the late-night operational capacity, driver bench, and dispatch experience to handle HHN group transportation reliably across the September-to-November run.
