The Rose Bowl is the most historically significant stadium on the West Coast and the most logistically complex venue in the Los Angeles transportation market. Eighty-eight thousand seats sit in the Arroyo Seco at the bottom of a single-lane access road, with the Rose Parade route and Old Town Pasadena festivities competing for the same surface streets every January 1st. The stadium hosts UCLA football all autumn, the Rose Bowl Game on New Year's Day, the AmericaFest July 4th show, and stadium-scale concert tours through the summer — plus eight FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and the 2028 Olympic soccer tournament now confirmed for the venue.

Group transportation to the Rose Bowl requires a level of operational coordination that few operators in Southern California can deliver. The I-210 backs up at Orange Grove, Mountain, and Lincoln two hours before kickoff. Linda Vista, Arroyo Boulevard, and Seco Street restrict to permitted vehicles only on event days. The Rose Parade closes Colorado Boulevard, Orange Grove, and Sierra Madre from 3am to 2pm every January 1st, requiring entirely separate routing for the post-parade game crowd.

GTS Charter has been running transportation through Pasadena for 25 years. We coordinate Rose Parade grandstand groups and hotel shuttles, UCLA alumni tailgates, Rose Bowl Game corporate hospitality, World Cup fan group transport, summer concert charters, and Rose Bowl Flea Market tour groups. Our drivers know every approach to the Arroyo, every loading zone in the Brookside Golf Course parking system, and exactly how the City of Pasadena's traffic management plan changes between event types.

Shuttle Options

Rose Bowl Shuttle Options: Public Shuttles vs. Private Group Charter

Most people searching for a “Rose Bowl shuttle” want the public shuttle from Old Town Pasadena. Here is how that service works, what it costs, and where it falls short — plus when a private group charter is the better fit. Shuttle times and pricing are set event by event, so always confirm on your event’s page at rosebowlstadium.com before you go.

How the Public Rose Bowl Shuttle Works

Foothill Transit runs the Rose Bowl Shuttle for select events, from the Parsons lot in Old Town Pasadena straight to Lot B at the stadium. You can park at the Parsons lot, take Foothill Transit Line 187 to Raymond & Walnut, or ride the Metro A Line to Memorial Park Station — exit to Holly Street, turn right, walk two blocks to Fair Oaks Avenue, and cross to the shuttle in the Parsons lot. LA Metro says the shuttle buses run every 5–7 minutes when in service, and after the event you board where you were dropped off. For UCLA football, the stadium does not allow rideshare drop-off, so UCLA directs rideshare riders to the Parsons shuttle instead. The Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day run on their own transportation plan, so check the official game-day information for January 1st.

02

Limitations to Plan Around

The public shuttle is a good deal, but it isn’t available for every event — Metro advises checking with the event organizer that shuttles are in service. Start times and prices are published per event, often only shortly before the date. Pricing differs too: for UCLA games the shuttle has been complimentary with paid Parsons parking, while some stadium concerts have required a purchased shuttle pass. Expect lines before and especially after sold-out events. When the shuttle isn’t running, Metro suggests walking from Memorial Park Station through the Arroyo Seco or taking Pasadena Transit Routes 51 or 52.

03

When a Private Group Charter Makes More Sense

If you’re a party of two staying in Old Town, the public shuttle is hard to beat. A private charter starts to make sense for groups of roughly 15 or more, groups staying at hotels in Downtown LA, Burbank, Glendale or the Westside, corporate hospitality and client outings, and anyone who needs a guaranteed ride home at a set time rather than a place in the post-event line. GTS picks your group up where you are, drops everyone together at the stadium’s bus area, and has the same vehicle waiting after the final whistle or encore.

What We Provide

Group Transportation Services at Rose Bowl

Rose Parade & New Year's Group Transport

The Tournament of Roses Parade is one of the most logistically complex events in American transportation. GTS Charter coordinates grandstand seating shuttles, hotel-to-route transport, post-parade-to-game transfers for guests with Rose Bowl Game tickets, and float-decorating-tour transportation in the days before the parade. We file traffic management plans with the City of Pasadena and stage vehicles before the road closures take effect.

UCLA Football & Alumni Tailgates

UCLA Bruin football fills the Rose Bowl on Saturday afternoons every fall, with alumni tailgate culture rivaling any college football scene in America. GTS Charter runs alumni booster shuttles, fraternity-and-sorority tailgate buses, and corporate hospitality charters for UCLA football — with experienced drivers who know the Brookside lots and how to time the post-game pickup before the Arroyo egress backs up.

Rose Bowl Game & Bowl-Season Hospitality

The Rose Bowl Game, College Football Playoff semifinal years, and bowl-season hospitality programs draw fans from across the country to Pasadena every January. GTS coordinates hotel-to-stadium shuttles from the Langham Huntington, the Hilton Pasadena, the Sheraton, the Westin, and the Courtyard — with backup vehicle planning that accommodates the unpredictable weather and crowd sizes of bowl season.

FIFA World Cup 2026 & Olympic Soccer Transport

The Rose Bowl will host eight FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and serve as the soccer venue for the 2028 Olympic Games. GTS Charter is preparing fleet capacity, multilingual driver coordination, federation logistics, and international fan group transportation for both events — building on our experience with the prior FIFA Women's World Cup and CONCACAF events at the venue.

Stadium Concert & Summer Tour Shuttles

The Rose Bowl regularly hosts the largest stadium concert tours in the world — historically Taylor Swift, BTS, Coldplay, Beyonce. We run hotel-to-stadium shuttle programs from Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, and Downtown LA, with reliable post-show return service that beats the Linda Vista egress queue.

Rose Bowl Flea Market & Group Tours

The Rose Bowl Flea Market on the second Sunday of every month draws collectors from across Southern California. GTS provides group-tour transportation, hotel concierge shuttles, and themed charter packages for visiting groups who want to spend a day at one of America's great flea markets without dealing with the parking situation.

Local Expertise

Why GTS Knows Rose Bowl

01

Pasadena Permit & Traffic Coordination

The City of Pasadena's event-day traffic management plan is genuinely complicated, with permit requirements that vary by event type, road closures that change between game days and parade days, and motorcoach access restrictions on Linda Vista, Arroyo Boulevard, and Seco Street. GTS Charter has the established relationships with Pasadena Transportation and Rose Bowl Operating Company to coordinate access for any event the venue hosts.

02

Rose Parade Logistics Experience

The Rose Parade is the most demanding annual transportation event in Southern California — closing Colorado Boulevard, Orange Grove Boulevard, and Sierra Madre Boulevard from 3am to 2pm every January 1st. GTS has decades of experience routing around the parade, staging vehicles before the closures take effect, and coordinating post-parade transfers to the Rose Bowl Game and other events.

03

I-210, SR-134 & Arroyo Approach Routing

Traffic to the Rose Bowl converges on the I-210 from the Inland Empire, the SR-134 from Glendale and Burbank, and surface streets from Pasadena and Altadena. Our drivers know which approach works for which event and time, and we coordinate motorcoach arrivals so groups roll into the Brookside lot system without sitting in two-hour pre-event traffic.

04

Marquee Event Operational Capacity

GTS has supported transportation operations at multiple Rose Bowl Games, the BCS National Championship, FIFA Women's World Cup matches, and stadium concerts drawing 80,000-plus fans. We have the fleet capacity, driver bench, and dispatch infrastructure to scale up for World Cup 2026 and the 2028 Olympic Games — events that demand operational reliability beyond what most charter operators can provide.

Common Questions

Rose Bowl Transportation FAQs

01

What is the Rose Bowl's seating capacity?

The Rose Bowl seats approximately 88,500. Set in the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena, it hosts UCLA football, the Rose Bowl Game on New Year's Day, stadium concerts, and — newly confirmed — eight FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and the 2028 Olympic soccer tournament.

02

Is there a shuttle service to the Rose Bowl?

Yes. For select events, Foothill Transit runs the public Rose Bowl Shuttle from the Parsons lot in Old Town Pasadena to the stadium’s Lot B — check your event page for times and pricing. For groups, GTS Charter provides private shuttles and charter buses to the Rose Bowl for UCLA games, the Rose Bowl Game, concerts, and World Cup matches. The stadium sits at the bottom of a single-lane access road, so we plan staging and timed arrivals in advance to move your group in and out efficiently.

03

How do I get to the Rose Bowl for the Rose Parade or Rose Bowl Game?

New Year's Day is the most logistically complex day in Pasadena, with the Rose Parade route and Old Town festivities competing for the same surface streets. GTS plans routes and staging around the closures, and a chartered group shuttle is by far the most reliable way to reach the stadium and Parade on January 1st.

04

Will you provide transportation for FIFA World Cup 2026 at the Rose Bowl?

Yes. The Rose Bowl will host eight FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and the 2028 Olympic soccer tournament. GTS Charter is preparing fleet capacity, multilingual driver coordination, and international fan-group and federation logistics — building on our experience with prior FIFA and CONCACAF events at the venue.

05

Where do charter buses drop off at the Rose Bowl?

Charter buses use the Rose Bowl's designated bus drop-off and staging areas, coordinated in advance with venue operations. Because the stadium has a single-lane access road in the Arroyo Seco, GTS times arrivals and departures carefully to keep your group moving and avoid the worst of the event-day bottleneck.

06

How do groups handle Rose Bowl traffic?

The Rose Bowl's single access road makes private cars slow and frustrating on event days. A chartered group shuttle lets everyone travel together, uses the designated staging zones, and follows GTS-planned routes around the Arroyo Seco bottleneck — turning the venue's biggest logistical headache into a non-issue.

07

Is there a free shuttle to the Rose Bowl?

Sometimes — it depends on the event. LA Metro lists the Foothill Transit Rose Bowl Shuttle as free, and for UCLA football the shuttle is complimentary when you pay to park at the Parsons lot; some stadium concerts, however, have required a purchased shuttle pass. Pricing and service are set per event, so check the event page at rosebowlstadium.com or Foothill Transit’s Rose Bowl shuttle page before you go.

08

Where does the Rose Bowl shuttle leave from in Old Town Pasadena?

The public shuttle departs from the Parsons parking lot on Pasadena Avenue just north of Union Street in Old Town Pasadena and drops off at Rose Bowl Lot B. From Metro A Line Memorial Park Station, exit to Holly Street, turn right, walk two blocks to Fair Oaks Avenue and cross to the Parsons lot. Foothill Transit Line 187 to Raymond & Walnut also connects.

09

Is there a Rose Bowl shuttle schedule?

Foothill Transit posts shuttle start times for each event on its Rose Bowl shuttle page, and they are often listed as “TBA” until close to the date. When the shuttle is running, LA Metro says buses come every 5–7 minutes, and you catch the return shuttle where you were dropped off. Groups that need a fixed departure and a guaranteed ride home usually book a private charter instead.
